May 31 Discussion Board: America's Breaking Point?

America is seeing the beginning of what looks like a burgeoning social movement. One that finally persists and grows in scale over time. One that doesn’t just fizzle out after a week of localized protests (i.e. Ferguson in 2014 or Baltimore in 2015). At the time of this post, there have been riots in about 30 cities. Including some as remote as Fargo, ND. Many of them have been close to 50% white, which indicates there is class solidarity happening through organizing. Unemployment is extremely high due to CHOICES MADE BY THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION and quite frankly, the millennial generation is tired of the same disenfranchisement at the expense of a donor class trying to steal the last bit of jewels from a dying empire. The indication is to all likelihood, without economic stabilizers in future bills or some kind of miraculous impromptu federal legislation limiting police use of force, these protests will continue off and on throughout the summer. I want to hear stories from those who have been involved on the ground. We need to get them out there in the public sphere. This board is designed to spark discussion and to allow me to amplify your personal stories. Take advantage of it. The window is open now to make any kind of change in this country…
